When I sat down with my summer calendar, I got really excited about the possiblity of doing some fun things with the kids. I couldn't put my finger on why I felt so free and then I realized we've spent the last TWO summers moving. There's just something so liberating about not having to relocate.
We decided to pack in the summer fun and make sure we had some fun family visits to keep us occupied! Part of our travels included a whirwind tour of Florida to visit my sister and brother.
The kids and I left after church on Sunday and drove down to hang out with my sister. This was the scene in the sprinter.
Awesome.
And we still have room for two more!
Monday we braved Sea World with eight kids under eight. I'll give you a minute to let that sink in. It's worth laughing out loud! It kind of felt like a morning herding cats, but we had a ball.
Well, most of the time we had a ball, but there were a few less than happy and very hot moments as well.
Tuesday morning we hung out and let the little babies take a morning nap while we chilled out...
...and enjoyed some yummy donuts.
Then we burned off some serious energy at the pool before we got in the car for the second leg of our trip.
A few hours further south and we landed with Andy and Em for the fourth of July. More pool time was a big hit.
And we spent plenty of time inside where it was cool.
We did go to this awesome park on the Intracoastal waterway and Mae thought watching the big kids on the swings was hysterical!

I am definitely jealous that Andy and Em live just a few minutes from the beach and we were glad to get a little time with out sand in the toes one afternoon.
Mae and I pretty much just camped out on the sand.
It's hard to complain about this view though!
We took a little side trip on our way back home and met Aunt Hannah and Gordon in Savannah. So fun to eat some yummy seafood and hang out with them for a little while.

We got to watch a few ships go by and goodness, those things are huge. Sadie could not stop showing Aunt Hannah some serious love!
We loved watching the ships again the next morning from our hotel room. Even eight floors up, the containers were stacked higher than we were!
We hustled back home just in time to unpack and get ready for everyone to come here and visit us! It has been non-stop cousin fun!
