Big Wheels

My mom, Gigi [as she has now been renamed by Ella], left today, and what a sad thing to drop her off at the airport. She is such a blessing and encouragement to me. It has been far too quiet of an afternoon! I guess I can't complain too much though because my babies are all sleeping happily...at the SAME time! What an amazing blessing to have a quiet house for two hours! I would have ten more babies if they were all like little Jack. We like to call him wonder baby!

Gigi did leave behind a few fun treats for the kids, including new Big Wheels! Let's just say these are a big hit! Bo was so excited to help daddy put them together...

He's also been experimenting with various ways to ride...

Of course, it didn't take Ella long to try her hand at standing up on hers...

Jack's First Bath

Let's just say bathtime wasn't his favorite!

It probably didn't help that I bathed him just before he was supposed to nurse...

Good Eats

Jack is definitely my most laid back baby yet. This is hard to believe because I've had two great babies with Bo and Ella! His greatest talent is sleeping, but he is also a great nurser [sometimes I'm not sure if that's because he knows what he's doing or I know what I'm doing though!].

I was able to capture a rare awake shot the other day while he was being burped after his meal...

Apparently, I got the shot just in time...

A sad day...

I got a text from my sister at 10:30 last night that their dog, Puga, had a stroke and things were really bad. I talked to her a little later after they sent them all home from the emergency vet clinic, and things were not looking good. Sadly, sweet Puga passed away early this morning. I am thankful that Sarah and Stephen were able to be with her as she passed, but it is just so sad. Puga was the sweetest dog you could ever imagine, and we all loved her dearly. I found these pictures of the kids enjoying Puga on our last visit. She really was so great with the kids and I never had to worry about her snapping at them. We will miss her!

Boys and Girls

I'm not sure how to help Ella understand that boys and girls really are very different...

And just because I know you're dying to see a picture of Jack as well...

Ella loves making sure her "baby" is sleeping with Jack whenever possible. Yet another difference between girls and boys!

Areos

No worries, areos is a made up word! Think oreos with an A. We've been capitalizing on the beautiful spring weather and spending some time outdoors. Bo loves all the dandelion blooms in our backyard, but he calls them areos for some reason. There's no shortage of fun; we have TONS of blooms for him to play with.

Ella has to join in as well!

Power to the People

Bo always loved to have one fist up in the air...sometimes while sleeping, sometimes while playing. We used to joke about it and called it "power to the people." I'm not even sure why we called it that or what it meant, but I'm starting to think it's genetic!

Aunt Sarah

Aunt Sarah had to leave yesterday; we were so sad to see her go! She was a champ with all the hospital back and forth.

Bo even got to go for a "ride" on her suitcase. Now that was big fun!

I feel like Jack's hair looked more red than strawberry blond when Sarah would hold him. I'm not sure if it reads all that well in this picture, but it looks pretty red to me here.

Sarah also got a few precious shots yesterday as we were letting Jack get some indirect sunlight for his little bit of jaundice. How precious is he? Aunt Sarah definitely had the creative vision on this one!

Spoiled

Jack is spoiling me rotten. It's 1:04 PM and ALL my babies are sleeping. Wow! I know there are rough moments to come at some point, but I am really enjoying the peace at this point! The peace, and the help. Jason is off of work; my mom is here, and my sister was here all weekend. Lots of extra hands makes all things easier! I am just so overwhelmed by God's goodness!

Jack was crying for a bit this morning and Bo heard him,

"Mom, is Jack sad?"
"I don't know Bo, but babies have to cry to communicate, so I think he's trying to tell us something."
[Bo translating] "Wah, wah, I just want to go back in your belly, wah, wah."

I don't know that he fully understands how it all works quite yet!

Here are a few shots from our stay at the hospital. Thankfully we are all home now!
